Polymer Workshop® + Mori Mono
Polymer Workshop® has collaborated with the Japanese design studio Mori Mono to produce an exclusive version of their Nano Bag.
In an new collaboration that bridges continents and design philosophies, Polymer Workshop® has joined forces with Japanese design studio Mori Mono to create an exclusive version of their new Nano Bag.
Mori Mono is based in Toyama, Japan, and was founded by Alexander Giesswein, who originates from Tirol, Austria.
Since 2020, Mori Mono has officially been producing products in the world of lightweight gear and bags for cycling enthusiasts, building a reputation for producing items that exemplify the perfect balance between lightness, functionality, and understated elegance.
”Cycling has always been a part of my life. As a kid, it was simply a way to get from point A to point B. Over time, it grew into something much more, with bike touring and exploring the Austrian mountains becoming central to my adventures.
In 2010, when I moved to Japan, cycling became a gateway for me to connect with the country and its people. Today, cycling is both my passion and profession—I work as a bicycle tour guide in Japan and also create cycling products. “ - Alex
At the heart of Mori Mono's products lies the revolutionary Dyneema® Composite Fabric (DCF), a game-changer in the world of outdoor and performance gear. Incredibly lightweight, 15 times stronger than steel, waterproof, and boasting the highest tear and tensile strength in its class, DCF showcases Mori Mono's commitment to using cutting-edge materials to create superior products.
Their philosophy of producing small batches of items released randomly adds an element of exclusivity to their products, ensuring high quality control standards, unique limited-edition pieces, and a sustainable production model.
”Mori Mono was born when COVID hit Japan, and the country's borders were closed to inbound tourism, leaving me without work. The idea was to design products that didn’t yet exist but that I personally wanted to own—lightweight, functional, and with a minimalist design.
I began making my own cycling bags, which gradually developed into a business of designing, producing, and selling them online through Mori Mono.” - Alex
This collaboration brings together Polymer Workshop® and Mori Mono's shared values for product and design, resulting in two custom-made Nano Bags that push the boundaries of minimalism and functionality.
The Nano Bags are designed to fit the bare minimum you need on your everyday local rides. Crafted to be as lightweight as possible, the Nano Bag has room for plugs, mini tools, CO2 cartridges and nozzles.
The collaboration will be available exclusively online at Polymer Workshop® online shop from 10/12/2024.
