Techunter Magazine is an independent publication documenting contemporary design, technology, and material innovation. Founded in 2015 with a focus on emerging practices and future-facing ideas, the magazine explores how design intersects with engineering, culture, and performance-driven thinking. Over the past decade, Techunter has established itself as a platform for in-depth editorial work, highlighting studios, products, and processes that challenge conventional boundaries.

For its 10-year Anniversary Issue, Techunter Magazine features Polymer Workshop® in a two-part project combining editorial content and product experimentation.

Magazine Feature

The editorial feature consists of an exclusive in-depth interview with Kasper Anker and Sebastian Tottrup from Polymer Workshop®. The conversation introduces the cycling components brand and explores the origins of the company, its development over time, and its approach to materials, manufacturing processes, and long-term design thinking within modern performance cycling.

The interview was conducted in Como, Italy, by Alexander Zabelin from Techunter Magazine earlier this year, during the Polymer Workshop® Road Assistance trip through central Europe. The setting provided a contextual backdrop

The interview offers insight into how Polymer Workshop® approaches product development through hands-on experimentation, iterative prototyping, and material-driven decision-making. It addresses the studio’s methods for translating performance requirements into physical products, balancing engineering constraints with design intent, and refining components through real-world testing rather than purely theoretical development.

Product Exploration

In celebration of Techunter Magazine’s 10-year anniversary, the collaboration extends beyond editorial work into a physical design project. As a response to the anniversary issue, Polymer Workshop® and Techunter Magazine have developed a special collaboration piece, exploring the shared ground between outdoor lifestyle, equipment manufacturing, and innovative textiles.

The result is an elevated foldable chair, designed around a carbon-constructed rail frame combined with Dyneema-infused fabrics.

With a total weight of under 690 grams, the design prioritises lightweight construction, structural efficiency, and minimal transport volume. The chair is supplied with a dedicated carry bag, allowing for easy transportation and use on the go.

The project continues Polymer Workshop®’s ongoing investigation into advanced composite materials and functional design systems.

To mark the release of the TECHUNTER 10-Year Anniversary Issue and the collaboration project, Polymer Workshop® and Techunter Magazine will host a public event in Copenhagen on January 16 and 17. The event will bring together the editorial release, the physical product, and an opportunity to engage directly with the ideas, materials, and processes behind the collaboration.

The foldable chair will be available for purchase exclusively through Polymer Workshop® and will launch online on January 16, released together with Techunter Magazine’s 10-Year Anniversary Issue.
